MAf Youth Camp - Egypt
After a long time of trying to figure out how I can really describe my great journey to Egypt, I have finally gotten a way of showing you. As I might have told you or sorry!! Of course, most of you must even might not have seen me physically.
But anyways, in 2004 just after my UACE exams which I passed highly and I got Government sponsorship, I participated in Mtandao Afrika (which was formerly known as ThinkQuest Africa) and I and my team built a very great website entitled “The Magic of Human Replaceable Parts” which made it to the finals (MAf Youth Camp) in Egypt. We were chosen among all the teams which participated from all over Africa to the finals and there I represented my team which made it as the best website in the Interdisciplinary category.
While we were in Egypt, we slept in a very great Five Star hotel and sorry I can’t really explain it if you haven’t been in a Five Star hotel. We had a lot of fun as we had training in various programming languages, visits to museums, Nile, pyramids etc.
Alright, I think you are just anxious to see for yourself so just view the ablum below.
Arrival
All the way from Uganda through Kenya, Sudan, Ethopia; we finally arrived at Cairo International Airport where we had to wait for some finalists who had problems with the Immigration fellows at the airport.
Award Presentation
After a some time of waiting, I and my team mates had to jump on to the stage to receive the Platinum Award in the Interdisciplinary category.
Dinner Time
After the Awards ceremony, all the participants were invited to a great Egyptian dinner. I just remember that snails were part of the menu
The Greatest Egyptian Pyramids
After the camp and training, we were taken around various historical features in Egypt and among them, the pyramids
A Closer shot
A closer shot of the pyramid might give you a idea. Don't be shocked!! These Egyptian guys were really good via maths. Just watch that 45 degrees on the sides of the pyramid. No doubt that these guys started Maths
