This Tuesday, I was invited by the SchoolNet Uganda Executive and Training Director, Mr Daniel Kakinda to give a presentation of how SchoolNet Uganda and ICTs in general had had an impact on me and surely, I did get time after work to go there.

UDERB WorkshopThe most amusing thing was that I started my presentation after 6p.m. and it was so exciting that I managed to have all the teacher who were in the workshop there up to about 7:30p.m. In deed, it was a very great opportunity for me to share how far I have worked with ICTs i.e. since the age of 10 and then joining SchoolNet Uganda as an intern since my S.6 vacation and then after then, I have got many opportunities both locally and internationally.

After sharing my experience with ICTs and SchoolNet Uganda, I introduced the teachers to the famous Uganda Digital Education Resource Bank (UDERB) of how this website can be useful to them and how they can be part of it.

Just after a few days, the teachers have now added a lot of new resources which they have acquired during the workshop and before. I am really grateful for have been given this opportunity and also I know I made some impact (encouraged teachers) to take up ICT both for personal benefit and as a professional.

I think I will write more about this afterwards.

PS: By the way, if you are a teacher or an education specialist, please feel free to check out this website as it has a lot of education resources which can be used for enhancing your lessons. The website can be found at http://www.uderb.org/
