Really, you want to know about me…

Mtandao Afrika Star Award 2006Wow!! It is a really honor having you here and sharing with you a little bit about myself. First and foremost, welcome to my little corner in the internet, Matrich which is a combination of my name(s). I spend most of the time on this planet in front of my laptop trying to cook something up out of nothing. I spend a good portion of this time trying to transverse the corners of the internet (if they exist) to evolve with this evolving internet and its technologies.

So who is this, Matrich?

I am Matovu Richard and I came into existence at around 14th October, 1984 and that makes me approximately 24 years. Ever since then, I have spent most of my life on this planet in Kampala, Uganda (Africa). I got hold of a computer at a very tender age unlike most kids especially in Africa and ever since then, I have proved incredible and indispensable about everything I do around a computer.

  • November 2008 to date:
    Currently working as an Analyst Solutions Architecture at MTN Uganda Limited
  • August 2007:
    Enrolled as a graduate student at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Makerere University for MSc Data Communication and Software Engineering
  • November 2006 – July 2007:
    Worked as an Information Engineer and System Administrator at Alam Group of Companies
  • March 2007:
    Won the Platinum Award (Science & Math Category) and Star Award (overall best) in the Mtandao Afrika 2006 Website Design Contest
  • June 2004 – October 2007:
    Worked as a student intern with SchoolNet Uganda, an NGO promoting of ICT in education
  • October, 2006:
    Graduated with a Bachelor of Statistics (Computing Option) at Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics at Makerere University
  • September, 2004:
    Won the Platinum Award (Interdisciplinary Category) in the Mtandao Afrika 2003 Website Design Contest
  • November 2002:
    Completed my Advanced Level studies at Makerere College School. I was offering Physics, Economics, Mathematics and Fine Art
  • November 2000:
    Completed my ordinary level studies at Namilyango College
